We are in the business of making sure that we turn our clients’ visions into reality,” is how company president Fred Yuson describes CWC International Corporation, a firm that has gained a reputation for the way it has brought in numerous global brands into the local furniture scene, as well as its collaborative approach to working with both clients and designers.

Founded in 1992, the CWC International started out with a single product: office modular systems. This, in itself, was rather timely given that there was a real need at the time for workstations and functional furniture as the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in the Philippines was beginning to gain traction. But times change with trends and tastes along with them – and CWC International changed accordingly.

Today, the business has grown and the company has worked with firms from a diverse range of industries including manufacturing, heavy industry, as well as the financial and hospitality sectors. Its clients include several which have been listed among the country’s 500 top corporations. At the same time, its product line has grown beyond the very basic set of office chairs and tables. Indeed, one only has to step into CWC International’s expansive showroom in Makati to see a wide range of items that includes ergonomic work furniture that combines comfort, style, and functionality; modular kitchen systems that would not be out of place in many of today’s homes; and an extensive selection of accessories which includes beautifully designed lamps and lighting fixtures. CWC International also lives up to the “international” in its name, as it carries furniture and décor from 26 globally renowned brands, and is the exclusive Philippine distributor for Herman Miller, Walter Knoll, JEB Partitions, Vitra, the Mohawk Group, and Unitile Flooring.

Likewise, CWC International goes the extra mile with regard to after-sales services. Indeed, over the past two decades, a number of clients have come to rely on the company not only because it delivers high-quality products or because it honours service warranties, but it also performs a number of other services such as reconfiguration requirements and space planning services that would allow for the maximum use of available resources.

“You could say that we’re selling more than furniture,” Yuson says of the way his company works with clients. “We’re selling value.”

For Yuson and CWC International, this is their way of honouring their commitment to a constantly evolving industry. As he puts it, “We want to keep [the Philippine design scene] updated on the latest trends. We want to be able to educate the market by being at the forefront of change.”

Nevertheless, this forward-thinking company also continues to put an emphasis on classic pieces, as well as the exceptional quality and expert craftsmanship that have gone into creating them and enabling them to withstand the test of time.
